The C-word

Will I mention it? Won't I?
I think it's just a tad too early, but don't you worry, the festive season turns me even more demented than usual and bumps up my exclamation point usage to three per sentence!!! But that's for later on in month. So instead of getting you lovely people stressed out, I thought I'd pop in and show you something I've been loving recently...
  • DIY Beanies!
I don't know about where you are, but here in Ireland it's suddenly become FREEZING! (not that's it's ever really hot here, but I digress) My head in particular has been feeling rather chilly so I think I might try and whip one of these up! I've happened across two tutorials that seem relatively easy, here and here. They're both made form old sweaters/jumpers, so you can put lasts year's knitwear to good use, or raid your local charity shop. I'm also playing with the idea of adding pom poms or sequins. These would make perfect gifts too - oh wait! I'm not supposed to mention Christmas! Sorry, won't happen again! ;)

Have a lovely day! S xx

Father's Day

Hey!
So Father's Day is fast approaching, and with that in mind I've rounded up a few ideas that have been floating around cyberspace! ;)

First up, a cute free Photoshop kit to whip up some cute cards and accessories! Snag it here!

There's also some very stylish printables over at The Hello Lucky Blog! Love the typography!

Does your dad love coffee? Make this! Pop some artisan coffee beans or a Starbucks card inside for the perfect gift!

Or maybe you have a music-loving Dad? A handmade case will prevent his precious iPod from getting scratched!

And if you are extremely organized (and lucky!) and have already bought your Dad/husband/granddad a gift, make sure to wrap it with style! Top your presents with a bow tie, a la Martha Stewart.

have a great day! :) S xx

Happy New Year!

Hello!
I hope you had a wonderful Christmas and....
          Happy 2012!
:) I hope this year is good for you all!

I found a great website recently while browsing around. If you haven't heard of it, you should really check it out!

It's called craftgawker, and it's full of drool-worthy crafts, hand picked from blogs and websites around the net! It's all in the name really! There's so much inspiration to "gawk" at, and it's a great place to discover new ideas and blogs. I highly recommend it! ;)
There is also a Weddinggawker, dwellinggawker and foodgawker (which I guarantee will make you absolutely starving!) Just click whatever "gawker" you want in the top left-hand corner! Enjoy! S xx

Christmas Gifts, Greetings, and Gorgeousness!

Hey!
Just popping in to say Merry Christmas! to you all!
I can't believe it's Christmas Eve! Time has flown! I've been very busy lately, but it's paid off  because all my gifts and cards are FINALLY made, wrapped, bought, glittered, enveloped, signed, tagged, photographed ;) and are sitting under a sparkling tree ready for tomorrow! I have NEVER been this organised, so I'm quite proud of myself!  If you've still got to make gifts and are completely panicking, here's a few
ideas:

Head on over to Creature Comforts for:
10 Last Minute Diy Gift Ideas!
There's some great ideas here that you could whip up today if you get cracking!

You could give the gift of ornaments! Here's a link  for a round-up of last-minute ornament ideas!

Another round-up of last-minute gift ideas here! Not as stylish as the creature comforts one, but there are some cute ideas.

How about giving a semi-homemade gift to save on time, but not sentimental value?  For example, spruce up an old notebook (or new cheap one!) with:

- A little fabric message or name of the recipient,

- Pretty Vintage Fabric (see top right),

- Fun Foam Stamps, or...

- Washi tape (Isn't this one just gorgeous!)

If you (amazingly) have lots of time on your hands, trawl through check out ;) One Pretty Thing's Handmade Gift Guide, a ginormous collection of gifts you can make, in every size, shape, and colour. Some are better than others. Like I said, there may be a bit of trawling involved!

And finally on the gifts front, something entitled "Little or No Skill Required Holiday Gifts" Sounds good to me! Now where did I put the chalkboard paint?!

And of course, don't forget the wrapping! Have the best looking gifts under the tree with these two links full of pretty ideas:

And if you really just want to be swamped by gorgeous wrapping ideas, check out my Pinterest board dedicated to just that! I've pinned tags, toppers, twist ties and more here! You'll find free printables, diy ideas, and just plain eye candy! Some presents here look too great to ever unwrap.
 I hope this helps!
Merry Christmas, I'll see you (hopefully!) in the New Year!  S xx
